    The Position

    About the Position:
    This recruitment is being conducted to fill one (1) full-time Senior Custodian position at Napa County. Senior custodians provide care and cleaning for assigned areas in and around Napa County buildings, offices, and other facilities. Senior custodians are e xpected to perform a full range of custodial duties with a significant degree of independent judgment and responsibility in keeping assigned areas clean and orderly. Senior Custodians, plan, assign, and inspect the work of an assigned crew of Custodians and may act as the Supervising Custodian in the supervisor's absence. The shift for the current vacancy is Monday-Friday 5:00 pm - 1:30 am PST and will be assigned to our South Campus location.

    Position Requirements:
    • Experience: Three years of responsible experience performing general custodial or cleaning work.
    • Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for four years of the required education on a year-for-year basis.)
    • License or Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver's License.*
    • Persons employed in this class must be willing to work days, evenings, and nights.
    • Custodians must be willing to flex from day to night shift (or vice versa) when there is a departmental need to do so. Advance notice of at least 14 days will be provided before any schedule changes.
    • The shift for the current vacancy is Monday - Friday 5:00 pm - 1:30 am.

    *Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e. active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County. For continued employment with Napa County, you must maintain such license, certification, or registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position.

    SALARY -
    Salaries are based on a five-step range. Appointments are usually made at the beginning step with advances occurring at six months and the completion of each year thereafter. Salary rates are reviewed annually.
