The Job
The Department of Public Health (DPH) Clinic Operations,is recruiting for a Driver for its Mobile Clinics, who will safely drive the vehicle to the various daily clinic sites, provide some clerical and registration support when the Mobile Clinic is not being driven, as well as attend occasional evening and weekend health fairs or other community events.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintaining the vehicle in a safe and functional manner, performing and documenting all routine safety checks on the vehicle before each trip, responsible for vehicle maintenance log/schedule and scheduling all routine vehicle maintenance such as checking tires, fuel levels, oil levels, weather stripping, air brakes, interior and exterior parts of the vehicle and ensures all routine maintenance is performed timely. Performing the set-up and take-down activities of the vehicle facility at the beginning and end of each location visit, keeping a daily log of fuel and mileage to and from clinics and events and, participating in registration, providing excellent customer service, greeting and/or calling patients, insurance verification, and eligibility preparation and processing of patient records; Scheduling and confirming appointments, and assisting with referral processing and other patient documents. Mobile Clinic Drivers may occasionally work at any of the DPH clinic sites, when not needed on the Mobile Clinic.

CLINIC OPERATIONS
The mission of the San Bernardino County DPH Clinic Operations is to protect health, prevent disease, and promote health and well-being. Clinic Operations provides a wide range of low-cost, confidential health services in a friendly atmosphere.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must pass a background investigation which includes verification of employment history and education, fingerprinting, physical exam, and drug screening.
License/Registration: Incumbents must possess and maintain a valid California Class A license with airbrake and passenger endorsement; must also have a clean driving record, with no minor traffic incidents within the past three (3) years and no major traffic offenses within the past ten (10) years.
Candidates who are referred for a selection interview will be required to bring an original, recent copy of their driving record to the interview, which can be obtained at any DMV location for a small fee.
Shift Availability:Candidates selected for these positions must be available to work ten (10) hour shifts, four (4) days per work week (Monday through Thursday).
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require Visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet both of the following Experience and License requirements:
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year full-time equivalent customer service experience and work experience as a California licensed driver of a Class A or B vehicle.
-AND-
LICENSE: A valid California Class A or B Driver's License and a clean driving record is required at time of application.
You MUST indicate your license number and expiration date on the supplemental question portion of the application.
Desired Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess three (3) years of experience driving Class A or B vehicles, and will have excellent customer service skills working with a variety of people.
