The Accountant is a central and vital part of our Fiscal team, providing contracts, grants, and MOU/MOAs analysis and support for the Lab.
- Assist units with grant applications, reports and other applicable documents for laboratory management and department review.
- Prepare Grant E&E budget loads for entry into the Expenditure Reports database.
- Oversee all MSPHL contract proposals/awards.
- Act as liaison between DHSS procurement officer/OA buyers and MSPHL unit managers to ensure contracts are processed in a timely manner.
- Track progress of RFP's, Contracts and other bid documents until the contract is awarded.
- Submit OA and DHSS contract request and renewal in accordance with state, federal and DHSS policies and procedures, appropriations intent, sufficiency of funds and allotment balances.
- Develop and maintain a successful working relationship with Division of Administration Procurement staff, as well as other MSPHL program staff, to ensure that contract documents are reviewed and processed promptly.
- Assist units as necessary with the development and processing of MOU/MOA's,
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed)
- Working knowledge of SAMII Financial.
- Microsoft Access database experience.
- Highly organized, proactive and possess strong analytical skills.
- Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
