This is an intermediate to high-level professional position responsible for assisting with all phases of staff training, Continuing Professional Education (CPE) compliance, and certifications.
The position generally reports to the Training Manager, though it could report to the Director or Assistant Director of Quality Control and Planning.

- Assist the Training Manager in preparation of the audit staff overall annual training plan.
- Coordinate training sessions for Group Internet Based platform and Group Live sessions.
- Assist the Training Manager and Director of Quality Control and Planning in communication with National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) regarding certification of training programs and the periodic NASBA compliance reviews.
- Update training presentations and other materials for in-house training in coordination with other State Auditor's Office (SAO) personnel as necessary.
- Present training topics during staff Onboarding sessions, all-staff meetings and other training sessions.
- Hold collaboration meetings with SAO staff who are presenting in-house trainings.
- Work with the Training Manager and Information Technology (IT) personnel to host trainings and all-staff meetings.
- Coordinate with internal and external trainers to schedule trainings and all-staff events.
- Assist the Training Manager with management of the CPE tracking system for all staff.
- Track all staff professional certifications and update the Audit Staff Professional Certifications Page on the Intranet at least quarterly.
- Monitor developments regarding professional certifications and apprise the Training Manager as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned by the Training Manager or the Director or Assistant Director of Quality Control and Planning.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, business administration, finance, or other similar degree.
- Licensed CPA or individuals qualified to obtain a CPA license preferred but not required.
- Ability to adapt to varying work hours based on preparing for and executing the annual training plan.
- Ability to travel overnight for trainings or meetings based upon the needs of the training schedule. Amount of travel will vary and is dependent on the official domicile of the individual. Most in-person trainings are held in Jefferson City and are estimated to occur monthly.
- Valid drivers' license, availability of a motor vehicle, and proof of motor vehicle liability insurance.
- Successful performance as a Staff Auditor III or Senior Auditor with the SAO preferred but not required.

• Ability to apply knowledge of the organization of Missouri state government, county government, and other local governments when preparing or evaluating training programs.
• Ability to apply knowledge of Government Auditing Standards and other applicable standards when preparing or evaluating training programs.
• Ability to apply knowledge of the office's audit manuals, audit report formats, and SAO policies/procedures when preparing or evaluating training programs.
• Willingness to learn and apply CPE requirements applicable to SAO staff.
