    The Magistrate Court Process Specialist performs a variety of administrative and technical work to support the activities of the Magistrate Court. Work involves preparing and maintaining a variety of files, databases and documents, answering telephone calls, greeting the public and routing communications. Employee is responsible for performing general clerical duties such as preparing photocopies, processing mail, and compiling data for reports.

    Examples of Duties

    Responsible for the daily creation, maintenance and document preparation for weekday "magistrate hearings" as required under T.C.C.P. Art. 15.17.
    Reviews criminal history and defendant provided personal information for computation and evaluation as a part of each defendant's prepared PUBLIC SAFETY REPORTING SYSTEM (PSRS) inquiry, preparation of report and presentation to judge for review.
    Preparation of daily Magistrate Court Hearing Dockets as well as collating and storing dockets and all documents related to the magistration of defendants or ancillary records prepared during or after daily magistration dockets in the jail.
    Entry of state required Bail Form into state database after magistration by indicating amount, type and conditions of bond.
    Reviews issued documents to determine appropriate pathway for dissemination of court orders, assesses nature and type of conditions of bond and entry of relevant conditions with either Sheriff or Texas Department of Public safety through TLETS.

    Images, electronically scans, and files all magistrate court records into the County or District Clerk's electronic document storage system (Odyssey).
    Utilizes computerized data entry equipment and various word processing and file maintenance programs to enter, store, and/or retrieve information; maintains pertinent files and records; scans and copies documents and ensures files are complete.
    Assists and provides information to judges, attorneys, bond companies, and the public regarding inquiries and questions, and processes incoming and outgoing mail, including preparing photocopies and collating materials.
    Regular and punctual attendance is required.

    Performs other related duties as required.

    Minimum Qualifications

    High School Diploma or GED and a minimum three years of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

    Must be able to be certified as a TLETS Operator.

    Must not have any Class B misdemeanor or higher convictions or deferred adjudications.
