    The City of Healdsburg is located 65 miles north of San Francisco on Highway 101 in the heart of Sonoma County, wine country and nestled among three lush valleys. Incorporated in 1867, Healdsburg’s 4.1 square miles is surrounded by over 60 wineries and their beautiful vineyards, including some of Northern California’s finest regional appellations. Healdsburg retains a unique, small-town ambience in the grandeur of a European countryside while providing easy access to the amenities of a large metropolitan area. With administrative direction from the City Manager, the Assistant City Manager plans, organizes, directs, and reviews the activities and operations of assigned City departments and/or City operations. This position coordinates assigned activities with City departments and outside agencies and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager. The Assistant City Manager also exercises direct supervision over assigned management, supervisory, professional, technical, and administrative support staff. The is seeking a proven and experienced leader to serve as its next Assistant City Manager. The ideal candidate will thrive while working on an ambitious and far-ranging set of issues and must be comfortable delving into “figure it out” projects where no defined roadmap is available. This person must excel in the areas of communication, leadership, and project management. The successful candidate has the ability to gain cooperation through discussion and persuasion, analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and project consequences of proposed actions.

     

    The monthly salary range for the Assistant City Manager is $16,446.00 to $19,990.57 and placement within this range is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
