    The Position

    Pharmacy Technicians process prescriptions and practitioners' orders; inspect drug storage areas; maintain inventory; and provide technical support services to professional pharmacists.

    Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

    The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services is recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician II at Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital in Las Vegas. The technician assists pharmacists in processing prescription orders in compliance with Nevada Board of Pharmacy Laws and SNAMHS protocols. Responsibilities include accurately filling and delivering medications to automated stations, labeling prescription containers for final checks, and providing coverage across SNAMHS pharmacies as needed. Pharmacy Technicians maintain optimal inventory levels by repackaging medications, managing backstock, and obtaining necessary supplies. They ensure proper stocking levels based on pharmacists' input and complete purchase requisitions with accurate ordering information. Responsibilities include placing medications in their correct locations, processing invoices for accounting, and replenishing floor stock, HD bins, and Smart Sink cartridges as required. Technicians also rotate medications using the "first in, first out" method, empty and clear Pyxis return bins, and log refrigerator temperatures twice daily to ensure compliance and safety. This is a part-time position. Incumbent will be working every Saturday and Sunday, 8am-5pm.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of experience as a licensed Pharmaceutical Technician in a pharmacy; OR one year as a Pharmacy Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements Licensure as a Pharmaceutical Technician issued by the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
