    This position is with the Office of Administration Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction (OA-FMDC) supporting the Security Unit.     What you’ll do:

    • Prioritize excellent customer service for wide and diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to internal teams, state agencies, state officials, contractors, and the public.
    • Provide outstanding customer service through communication with state agencies and the public regarding building security, solicitations, contracts, and more.
    • Support Security Manager and Badge Office with work including but not limited to reviewing applications, processing, and issuing badges; reviewing guard contracts; completing skilled work; and providing administrative oversight.
    • Assist in the development, preparation and implementation of security policies and procedures, translating guidance into actionable items.
    • Assist in coordination, facilitation, and promotion of safety and security programs.
    • Assist in implementation of agency-wide security protocols and compliance of polices/procedures.
    • Assist in research, audit, and assessment of facilities for both internet/external security threats and risks.
    • Assist in the review and ensure accurate preparation and processing of fiscal, personnel, purchasing, and related documents utilizing MissouriBuys and other internal financial systems.
    • Establish and maintain a variety of reports and assessments, including those regarding safety, security, equipment, and training; and provide useful recommendations.
    • Receives general supervision from a designated security supervisor and carries out assigned responsibilities independently within established guidelines.
    • Follow all OA-FMDC health and safety protocols in addition to OSHA standards.


    All you need for success:

    • Ability to communicate, collaborate and lead with integrity in a manner that inspires trust and builds positive rapport with a diverse group of stakeholders and the public.
    • Ability to manage numerous time-sensitive projects independently or as part of a team using procedures, processes, regulations, and practices applicable to the security of state government.
    • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex technical documentation in order to apply and to solve programs and provide options for resolution.
    • 4-6 years of security-related experience whether in military, law enforcement or corporate security environment. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
    • Experience with Sonitrol, Lenel, P2000, Gallagher and other security systems, or industry equivalent systems preferred.
    • Homeland Security Protected Critical Infrastructure Information training or certification preferred. (OA-FMDC can provide training once hired if needed.)
    • Safety-first mindset with considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of trade areas. (OSHA 10 or 30 preferred, but OA-FMDC can provide training once hired if needed.)
    • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from Missouri or from an adjacent state if you reside outside of Missouri.

    *This position is physically demanding. Examples of job duties may include prolonged periods of walking/standing/sitting/bending/driving, climbing ladders, ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, working in inclement weather and working on uneven or elevated surfaces. This list is not all inclusive, but a general representation of duties that may be encountered in this position, however other duties may be assigned contingent upon business needs. Please note, this position is considered a “Category 2” under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), meaning the incumbent will be compensated for overtime (hours actually worked over forty hours in a workweek) at the rate of time and one-half.
