The Office of Administration, Division of General Services provides essential support services to state agencies that include printing, mail services, management of the state fleet, and administration of the legal expense fund and the state employee workers’ compensation program. General Services also maintains responsibility for the statewide in-house recycling program, transfers and/or disposes of state agencies’ surplus, and administers the Federal Surplus Property Program.
- Arrange transportation appointments with transport contractors for items to be picked up and delivered to Surplus.
- Coordinate direct pick-ups of federal property for our customers.
- Maintain customer accounts in the Surplus Property system to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
- Guide customers through the eligibility process for our program by providing clear information, answering questions, and ensuring all necessary documentation is submitted accurately and on time.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of inventory to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
- Provide prompt and professional support to customers through phone and email communication.
- Provide front desk support as a backup to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Actively participate in up to three annual in-state conference events to promote our program, share valuable information and foster partnerships. Represent our program at 1-3 yearly in-state conferences.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the team and meet organizational goals.
- Ability to communicate, collaborate, and operate with integrity in a manner that inspires trust and builds positive rapport with a diverse group of stakeholders and the public.
- Good verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and planning capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize and execute work independently with minimal supervision.
- Computer software knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Six or more months of experience in office support work; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- Excellent attendance, work ethic, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from Missouri or from an adjacent state if you reside outside of Missouri.
