Watershed Management program is an integral part of the
Water Quality Division. As the Watershed
Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to rapidly learn, lead and participate in projects that support the nationally recognized and award-winning

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field
- Five years of experience in environmental health, environmental planning, inspections or engineering
- Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Advanced degree in engineering, environmental science, law, geology, business or related area
- NCPE - North Carolina Professional Engineer’s (PE) License upon hire or the ability to obtain through comity
How Will We Know You're 'The One'? - Organized and detail oriented with excellent analytical, computer and problem-solving skills
- Excellent ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats to explain technical specifications to non-technical groups
- Excellent ability to identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, to maintain high-quality and competitive core services
- Excellent ability to work with stakeholders on projects, both inside and outside the organization
- Excellent techniques to complete work on projects that have multiple people and organizations involved
- Advanced ability to guide and help others understand and achieve the goals of the organization
- Excellent knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services to include customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Excellent knowledge of rules, design principles and methods to control sedimentation and erosion and mitigate stormwater runoff
- Ability to lead a diverse team of engineers and scientists with technical expertise in plan review, erosion and sedimentation control and post-construction stormwater management
