    This position may be filled at one of three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, an Intermediate starting salary of $56,712.48 and a Senior starting salary of $61,249.44.

    Job Location: Central Office, 105 West Capitol Avenue, Jefferson City, Missouri

    The investigator performs routine entry-level activities in regards to conducting investigations of fraud, waste, and abuse allegations, employee grievances and complaints, and equal employment opportunity complaints. Responsibilities are performed under direct supervision.

    What you’ll do:

    • Assists in the receipt and processing of fraud, waste and abuse allegations, employee grievances, internal equal employment opportunity (EEO) complaints and external EEO complaints received from state or federal EEO enforcement agencies.
    • Assists with assembling, recording, and evaluating facts pertaining to investigations, and with interviewing employees, officials, and others to verify facts and obtain specific background information.
    • From case notes, assists in writing case synopses and recommending appropriate actions.
    • Maintains administrative records regarding cases.
    • Assists in developing interview questions and serves as witness to investigation interviews.


    All you need for success:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree: Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or related field
    • Substitution of experience for the education requirement will be considered


    Special Working Conditions:

    • Job requires regular travel and occasional, statewide, overnight travel.
