MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
EXPERIENCE: Four or more years of responsible professional civil engineering experience, including experience with public works projects and three years of supervisory experience.
CERTIFICATIONS: Possession of a current Professional Civil Engineer License in California.

THE POSITION
The Senior Engineer will serve as a key member of the City’s Public Works/Engineering Department and is tasked to lead and manage multiple transformative projects that enhance the quality of life for the residents of the City of Eastvale.
In this role, you will oversee the planning, design, and construction of complex capital improvement projects, including transportation, drainage, and public infrastructure. You’ll manage budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery while maintaining the highest standards. Acting as a technical expert and liaison, you’ll collaborate with city leadership, developers, and contractors, while collaborating with a talented team of engineers.
With Eastvale’s focus on innovation, sustainability, and community-driven development, the Senior Engineer will play a critical role in shaping the future of Eastvale by contributing to the development of the city’s highly anticipated downtown. Downtown Eastvale will be the heart of the community, featuring vibrant public spaces that foster a thriving hub for both residents and businesses.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Support the long-term vision for Downtown Eastvale & Civic Center, including key facilities such as the City Hall, Public Library, Fire Station, Police Substation, and Lifestyle Center.
• Plan, manage, and oversee the design, construction, and delivery of complex Capital Improvement Projects.
• Develop project budgets, schedules, and resource plans to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Provide technical expertise by preparing engineering plans, studies, and reports that align with city standards and industry best practices.
• Coordinate and collaborate with developers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve challenges and ensure project success.
• Foster strong relationships across departments, the community, and external partners to achieve strategic goals.

Eastvale is a part of the Corona-Norco Unified School District (CNUSD) and the Jurupa Unified School District (JUSD). CNUSD is the largest school district in Riverside County and the ninth largest school district in the State of California. The elementary schools in Eastvale are multi-track year-round schools. The City of Eastvale has six elementary schools, two intermediate schools, and two high schools. JUSD is grade K-12 school district in Riverside County, California. It has an enrollment of approximately 20,500 students.
During the weekends the City hosts a variety of multicultural, family-friendly, free events. Some of our signature events include our Eek!Vale Halloween event, Miracle on Citrus Street holiday event, Lantern Festival, EATSvale Food Truck events, and our International Street Food Festival. After a hard week of school and work, our events are the perfect place to unwind with friends and family.
Another key component of Eastvale is our dedication to public safety. The City of Eastvale contracts law enforcement and fire services. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department provides excellent law enforcement services to our residents which is why we continue to invest in public safety by increasing funds for more officers, patrol hours, and equipment. Fire Stations 27 and 31 provide state-of-the-art apparatus and highly trained staff to respond to all fire and emergency medical needs in a timely manner. We also recently developed a Neighborhood Watch Program to increase community involvement and safety. The culmination of these efforts has allowed Eastvale to be ranked the 26th safest city in California.
In 2017, the City of Eastvale City Council adopted the Leal Master Plan to establish their vision for the 160-acre Leal Property located at 58th Street, Hamner Avenue, Limonite Avenue, and Scholar Way. The City’s vision for the site is a major, mixed-use retail, office, housing, and civic development that will serve Eastvale and the region. The site will house our Public Library/Innovation Center, City Hall, Police Station, and 3 Fire Station. We look forward to serving this community in a new location in the coming years.
