    Are you a dedicated and skilled individual looking to make a positive impact on Larimer County's natural resources? Join our team as a Visitor Use Park Aid Supervisor Temp!

    As a key member of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing visitor experiences at Larimer County's parks and open lands. Responsibilities include providing valuable information and directions to visitors at various locations, including roving positions, visitor centers, campgrounds, and designated visitor contact stations.
    Natural Resources manages Larimer County's great outdoor places, including open spaces and magnificent water-based recreation areas, and fosters responsible land stewardship through weed management and healthy forest practices. The Department of Natural Resources has 40+ benefited employees and 125+ seasonal and part time employees.

    The typical schedule for this position includes variable shifts, with work on holidays and weekends. This is a new, lightly-benefitted, full-time temporary position lasting 10 months, based in the Carter Lake District.

    Responsibilities

    What you'll be doing:
    • Greeting park visitors and providing information about recreation opportunities.
    • Selling park permits to visitors.
    • Completing shift reports accurately.
    • Preparing bank deposits.
    • Following procedures to securely handle permits, cash, checks, and credit card receipts.
    • Referring visitors to camp hosts, rangers, or other staff as necessary.

    What we're looking for:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of the county's parks and open lands.
    • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
    • Proficiency in using a credit card terminal.
    • Experience supervising and scheduling employees.
    • Excellent organizational skills to manage tasks and paperwork efficiently.
    • Background in customer service and cashier operations.


    Qualifications

    To move forward in the hiring process, candidates must meet the required minimum qualifications. That said, we encourage you to think about your unique background and skills before applying.     • Six (6) months experience in customer service, public relations, and general maintenance preferred.
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Some college courses in Natural Resources Management, Park and Visitor Services Management, General Ecology and Biology, Wildlife Biology, or a related field preferred.
    • Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.
    • Valid CPR and First Aid Certifications preferred.
