    Position Summary

    Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations, the Business Operations Coordinator (BOC) works with the Director of Operations and staff within the Division of the President to support the functions of the division which include financial and personnel processes.

    The BOC is responsible for providing business resources and administrative coordination for the Division of the President, Business Operations, and assisting staff within the unit with programing, project management, personnel, recruiting processes, and scheduling interviews and other meetings.

    Work also includes providing administrative support for the Division of the President, where administrative support is needed.

    FLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime compensation)

    Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,058 per month - $4,706 per month

    CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,058 per month - $6,653 per month

    Minimum Qualifications

    Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.

    These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

    Required Qualifications

    Experience:

    1. Experience providing administrative support in a confidential office setting.

    2. Experience providing a broad range of customer service.

    3. Experience working independently, as well as part of a team to ensure all matters are in accordance with set policies and procedures.

    4. Experience in the use of computers, common office equipment (fax, copier, printer, multi-line phone, scanner, etc.), and software systems including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) and internet browsers.

    5. Experience working with diverse populations.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    6. Ability to handle multiple work priorities and accountability for own work results.

    7. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide range of policies and procedures related to the program area.

    8. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group.

    9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    10. Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner amidst competing and shifting priorities.

    11. Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.

    12. Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents including faculty, students, staff, and members of the community.

    Preferred Qualifications

    13. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Behavioral Organization or related field 14. Experience in an academic environment. 15. Working knowledge of CSU Executive Orders and University policies. 16. Working knowledge of general Human Resources employment policies, procedures and practices. 17. Experience using PeopleSoft and other Applicant Tracking Systems (i.e., CMS/HR, PeopleAdmin, etc.). 18. Experience with recruitment processes and processing personnel transactions.
