    Classification: Adminstrative Support Assistant - 10/12 Appointment
    Hours: Part-time 20 hours per week (1-5 Monday -Friday)
    FLSA: Non-exempt

    Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $1,534 per month for 12 months for a 10 month work schedule

    PURPOSE:

    Under the general supervision of the Director of the Student Disability and Accessibility Center (SDAC), the Administrative Assistant performs a full range of moderate to complex office and clerical assignments in support of the day-to-day operations of SDAC. The Administrative Assistant supports the SDAC advising and administrative staff.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Provides receptionist services for SDAC: responds professionally and effectively in person to all inquiries from students, faculty, staff and community members about SDAC services
    • Provides administrative support to Director, Advising Team, and Operations Analyst. Utilizes excellent judgment and discretion in processing of confidential materials.
    • Schedules appointments following established policies and procedures in the student information system
    • Resolves questions related to SDAC services; refers complex or unresolved issues to the Support of the Day position.
    • Monitors and responds timely to the department’s shared email and voice mail accounts on a daily basis.
    • Social media coordinator for SDAC, including creation of outreach and promotional materials. Includes regular and timely posting to multiple social media accounts.

    Other Functions :

    Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Basic knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Working knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to use standard office equipment. Ability to use standard word processing and related computer software packages. Ability to identify and solve standard problems and refer more complex problems to appropriate staff. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions. Fundamental writing and presentation skills to effectively communicate standard information. Ability to respond to routine inquiries and explain standard policies and procedures to others.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Entry to this classification requires fundamental written and oral communication skills, including a sound foundation in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; an ability to understand standard office procedures; an ability to operate standard office equipment; an ability to learn office technology systems; an ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; and typing and keyboard skills. These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through completion of a high school program or its equivalent and some experience in an office environment.

    SPECIALIZED SKILLS:

    Previous reception and/or administrative experience in a disability-service setting.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Technical fluency with Oracle/PeopleSoft, CSU Common Management System or equivalent student information system; Microsoft Office Professional; Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar, Forms, etc.); 25Live; intranet drives; and internet browsers.

    PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

    Office environment with standard equipment and tasks. The position requires working at a computer and desk for extended periods of time. May require travel between campus offices and off-campus locations.
