    Description

    We’re seeking a part-time Custodial Assistant-H to help maintain and clean city buildings, ensuring they’re clean, safe, and ready for public use. If you’re reliable and detail-oriented, we’d love to hear from you!

    This is a continuous recruitment and will remain open until filled.

    Under appropriate supervision and/or designated direction, the Custodial Assistant performs a combination of duties to help public rentals with basic audio/visual set ups, room set up and light cleaning of bathrooms, classrooms, and offices.

    Essential Functions:
    • Oversee private rentals and room reservations to ensure smooth operations
    • Provide excellent customer service to rental groups and address any needs or concerns
    • Collect and dispose of refuse in a timely manner
    • Vacuum and maintain cleanliness of event spaces as needed
    • Clean and restock restroom facilities regularly
    • Ensure the building is secure by turning off lights, locking doors, and checking windows
    • Assist with moving and setting up furniture and equipment for events or rentals
    • Maintain a log of building deficiencies and report any issues observed
    • Assist with setting up lighting, sound systems, and projectors as required for events or presentations


    Related Functions:
    • May make minor repairs and set up rooms for meetings
    • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required

    (Limited Hourly employees are non-union and non-benefitted employees. They are limited to working 416 hours per fiscal year.)

    Minimum Qualifications

    Sufficient education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge, skills and abilities, which would typically be acquired through:
    • Two years’ experience in custodial service or recent history of responsible work experience.
    • Understanding the operation and repair of all custodial-related materials.

    Special Requirements:
    • Possession of a valid California Driver's License.


    Desired Qualifications:
    • Two years’ experience in basic Audio-Visual work.
