CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Travel: Travel throughout the State may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.

Minimum RequirementsExperience: Two (2) years of experience performing professional social work duties equivalent to a Social Worker II in San Bernardino County.
-AND-Education: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework, half of which must be
upper division, in behavioral science, psychology, social work, sociology, human services, behavioral anthropology, gerontology, cultural and gender studies, or human development.
Note: Social Worker II Trainee experience is not considered qualifying and must be clearly distinguished from journey-level Social Worker II experience in the work experience section of your application.
Required Documentation: A list of completed coursework or copies of transcripts
must be submitted with the application unless the applicant possesses a Bachelor's degree in one of the specified areas. Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. BSW/MSW degrees or coursework must be approved by the Council on Social Work Education.
Degrees or coursework completed outside of the U.S. must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service indicating equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Proof of the required completed coursework and/or degree(s) may be required at the time of the interview.
Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will be a Social Worker with experience in a government Department of Aging and Adult Services or Children and Family Services, possess a Bachelor's degree in a qualifying area, and have excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities. If you possess these qualities you should specify these qualifications on the application materials.

Be sure to clearly describe in your application your experience in meeting the minimum requirements as well as the ideal qualifications, particularly experience as follows:
- Experience as a social worker in an agency serving the elderly, adults with disabilities, children, and families.
- Experience providing supervision/training/mentoring.
- Experience on committees, work groups, or serving as a liaison coordinating services with other agencies, particularly in a leadership capacity.
