Division/Section: Terminal Management/HOU Management Workdays & Hours*: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Occasional Weekend/Holidays ***(*Subject to change)*** DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Terminal Management exists to deliver a 5-star experience for all passengers traveling through Houston’s airports. This experience includes all Guest facing services from the time a passenger enters the airport facility to the time they depart on an aircraft and vice versa. The scope of Terminal Management’s responsibility includes aesthetic appearance, functional condition of airport facilities and amenities, operational readiness, and terminal ambiance. Terminal Management is the primary liaison with airlines, federal agencies and any Guest facing service provider at the airports as well as with Skytrax, an organization that rates airlines and airports worldwide and is the inspiration for the Houston Airport System’s mission of becoming a 5-star global air service gateway where the magic of flight is celebrated.
The Staff Analyst throughout the Terminal Management section of the William P. Hobby Airport is responsible for ensuring strategic goals are met through identifying and supporting airport business units. This role will develop and improve processes with standardization, research industry innovations, develop and analyze key performance indicators, and benchmark industry best practices. The Staff Analyst will also be responsible for demonstrating a high level of collaboration and communication as well as work with different business units to improve processes, programs, and procedures. This position will assist the Terminal Manager and act as a support tool for the leaders of Terminal Management. In addition, budget preparation/input, reporting and presentation assignments are an expectation of this position. "

The responsibilities of the Staff Analyst include, but are not limited to: - Investigates and makes recommendations for addressing issues of medium complexity and/or sensitivity.
- May be assigned management responsibilities on a limited basis for certain functions, units or programs.
- Compiles data, produces information and interprets results through conclusion or recommendation formulation.
- Develops reports, special documents or publications as assigned.
- Completes special projects as assigned, working on a wide variety of financial, administrative, professional, management and community issues and problems of simple to medium complexity.
- Represents supervisor at meetings and functions generally to gather information.
- Handles highly confidential information.
- Prepares, edits and revises department policy and procedure manuals. Responds to correspondence, requests for information, etc. as assigned by supervisor.
- May participate in the development of management and administrative policies, procedures and master plans with both short- and long-term objectives.
- Analyzes and reviews management practices and procedures and develops recommendations for improvement.
- Negotiates solutions for problems of simple to medium complexity as assigned by supervisor.
- Interprets administrative policies these policies. and oversees communication with department personnel regarding policy.
- Participates in evaluation and design of workflow, processes and various operations systems, etc.
- Develops technological solutions and systems for continuous improvement programs and other appropriate applications.
WORKING CONDITIONS The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, and air conditions. Requires the ability to make simple gross motor responses within large tolerances.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
Graduate degrees related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the experience requirement on a year for year basis.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Three years of professional administrative, financial, or analytical experience related to the type of work being performed are required.
Professional experience related to the type of work to be performed maybe substituted for the education requirement on a year-to-year basis.

PREFERENCES ****Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**** Preference will be given to applicants with:
- Advanced knowledge and skillset of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and in written
