The Missouri State Fair is looking for a candidate to fill a full time Administrative Support Assistant to work as the front desk receptionist and assist the Concessions/Off Season Events Manager and Facilities Manager. Front Desk Receptionist/Concessions /Off-Season Events Assistant - Will be the first friendly face and voice visitors, vendors and other staff will meet when coming to the Fairgrounds office.
- Provide administrative support to the Concessions/Off-Season Events Manager and Facilities Manager, in addition to all other departments as needed.
- Greet and assist all visitors, vendors and staff in a courteous, professional and friendly manner.
- Managing a multi-line phone system to answer and redirect calls promptly while maintaining professionalism and to provide customers with their requested information.
- Effectively negotiate and resolve customer problems.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and preparing documents or reports.
- Handling mail and deliveries, including sorting, distributing, and scheduling courier pickups as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED Equivalent AND
- One (1) or more years of clerical, administrative support, or general office support work
- Must possess a valid Missouri Driver’s License
Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.Preferred Qualifications: Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, the general public and other professionals. Must be proactive, efficient and willing to multi-task while completing tasks in a timely manner. Detail oriented Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to handle customer interactions and professional correspondence. Experience as an office assistant or another relevant administrative role. Working knowledge of office equipment such as fax machine, copy machine, etc and proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs. Ability to learn quickly in a fast paced environment filled with weekly event requests, and the annual Missouri State Fair program that changes each year.
