    Job Summary

    Join our team as an Equipment Operator and take pride in keeping our city’s parks, trails, athletic fields, and green spaces in top condition! You’ll operate a variety of equipment to maintain these areas, perform essential preventative maintenance, and engage with fellow team members and the community.     Essential Job Functions

    This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The following examples do not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent.

    This position has responsibilities that require lifting up to 20 pounds on occasion.
    • Maintains grounds by using tractors, field mowers, and various small lawn equipment.

    • Provide turf and horticultural maintenance in parks and other city facilities.

    • Inspect parks and other city facilities to ensure safe conditions, report vandalism, and repair damages.

    • Operate various type of equipment such as tractors, loaders, backhoes, forklifts, field mowers, paint sprayers, etc.

    • Remove debris from park grounds, clean parking lots and sidewalks, and remove graffiti from parks and facilities.

    • Assist with special event set-up and tear-down.

    • Performs preventative maintenance by inspecting and performing required maintenance and repairs of all equipment used.

    • All other duties as assigned by a supervisor/manager within your department/division.


    Minimum Qualifications

    Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may qualify. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:
    • Education: High school diploma or GED.

    • Experience: 1 year of related experience.

    • Licenses: Valid Class C Texas Driver's License required.
