    Job Overview

    Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, the Graphic Design Specialist will consult with marketing colleagues and campus partners to translate communication needs and execute engaging design concepts that maximize project goals. Using a thorough knowledge of design techniques as well as strong print, web, digital and related production skills, the Graphic Design Specialist will amplify the intended message with media and promotional materials that communicate clearly, boldly and creatively.

    As part of the marketing team, the Graphic Design Specialist will collaborate with campus partners to understand their distinct audiences and develop visual strategies that help drive student recruitment, enrollment and engagement. The Graphic Design Specialist will ensure that all marketing and promotional materials meet strategic goals and visual communications standards and that they are on-brand, impactful, consistent and adapted appropriately to various media platforms.

    Position Summary

    Graphic Design Specialist (Public Affairs/Communications Specialist II)

    This is a full-time, temporary, exempt position ending on or before one year from date of hire. Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual's performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations. The university reserves the right to terminate this appointment earlier than the scheduled expiration date.

    Pay, Benefits, and Work Schedule

    Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,830 - $6,000 per month

    CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,146 - $7,500 per month

    Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.

    This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.

    This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
