    A Multimedia Storyteller-Communication Specialist job is available with the City of Fort Worth Water / Customer Engagement.

    Are you a creative communicator with a passion for storytelling? Do you thrive on using multimedia to inform and engage the public? Fort Worth Water is looking for a Communications Specialist to share the story of one of the most essential services in our community.

    With nearly $2 billion in infrastructure improvements planned over the next decade, there’s a lot to share about our commitment to providing exceptional water and wastewater services while ensuring environmental sustainability and affordability. We need your talent to bring these stories to life.

    This role is ideal for a visual content creator with a knack for video production, photography, and digital content creation. You will capture and produce compelling visual stories that highlight Fort Worth Water’s impact-whether it’s behind-the-scenes infrastructure projects, customer engagement initiatives, or environmental stewardship efforts. We are looking for a visual storyteller passionate about video production, digital storytelling, and photography. A self-starter who can independently identify and execute creative ideas. A content creator who understands how to tailor visuals for different social media platforms, websites, and print materials. A detail-oriented multimedia professional with experience in video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve. A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and takes ownership of projects.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism communications, public relations, public affairs, or related field.
    • Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in public relations, communications, marketing, or related field.
    • Possession of, or ability to obtain an appropriate, valid Texas driver’s license.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, or other graphic design tools for content creation.
    • Knowledge of SEO best practices for video content and optimizing videos for various social platforms.
    • Ability to write engaging video scripts that enhance audience engagement.
    • Proficiency in video production and editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent.
    • Strong writing skills for developing scripts, articles, and engaging captions.
    • Understanding of social media content trends, video formats, and digital engagement strategies.

    The Digital Communications Specialist job responsibilities include:
    • Video Production & Editing: Capture, edit, and produce high-quality videos for social media, public outreach, and internal communications.
    • Photography: Take and edit professional photos showcasing Fort Worth Water’s services, employees, infrastructure, and community impact.
    • Social Media & Digital Content Creation: Develop engaging video clips, reels, and photo-driven content optimized for various platforms.
    • Brand Storytelling: Translate Fort Worth Water’s mission and initiatives into compelling visual narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
    • Community Engagement & Public Relations Support: Support and/or lead community events, infrastructure projects, and public outreach efforts to visually document and share Fort Worth Water’s impact.
    • Content Strategy & Innovation: Identify new storytelling opportunities, collaborate with team members, and create multimedia campaigns that stand out.

    Physical Demand

    Benefits That Are Well Worth It

    Medical Program

    The City offers two plan options through Meritain Health, an Aetna company.

    The Health Center Plan – Offers employees and their family’s

    primary health care services that are 100% completely free and unlimited. Employees can visit any one of the three City of Fort Worth Employee Health Centers and receive guaranteed same or next day appointments for sick visits. Also, services are available at any one of the five satellite locations that serves employees across the city.

    The Consumer Choice Plan – Is offered to employees at no cost or low monthly premiums to cover eligible dependents and provides the financial benefits of a Health Savings Account (HSA).

    • Preventative services are covered at 100% on both plans.
    • Prescription Drug coverage including mail order pharmacy are also included.

    Vacation

    Eligible for 3 weeks of vacation: After successful completion of probationary period (usually
    6 months), employees may take time off for rest, relaxation, vacation, illness, religious observances, and personal business.

    Holidays

    Available on the first day of employment, the city provides employees with paid holidays, including two personal holidays.

    Wellness Program

    The city’s Healthy Challenge Wellness Program rewards all full-time, benefit-eligible employees on the city’s health insurance. The Healthy Challenge Program utilizes a points system. Participants may earn points throughout the year (Jan. 1-Dec. 15) for completing specific program activities and participants can redeem points at the end of the year for a cash reward. By participating, individuals can earn $150, $200 or $250 by accumulating program points.
