    Lead Customer Service Representative (Withholding Tax) Non-Supervisory

    Department of Revenue

    Annual Salary: $ 40,660.80

    Location: Truman Building - 301 West High Street, Jefferson City, MO

    HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:

    The Business Tax Correspondence team processes and responds to customer inquiries regarding sales and use tax, employer withholding tax and tire/battery fee delinquent notices. The Local Tax Team processes and responds to political subdivision and business inquiries regarding sales and use tax, registration and tax rate issues. Our mission is to provide quality service to our customers. Your work will involve processing MO-Works tax credits and handling Withholding tax protests as well as assisting the Business tax correspondence team and Local tax team.

    DUTIES PERFORMED TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:

    This description may not include all of the duties, knowledge, skills, or abilities associated with the title.

    • Process MO-Works tax credits and ensure the clients maintain compliance
    • Process Withholding tax protests and issue Final Decisions
    • Respond to customer’s sales tax and withholding tax inquirers either by letter, email, or phone call
    • Assist team members with problems with accounts and determine how to proceed with the accounts
    • Tester for Revenue Premier
    • Assist Local Tax unit with responding to correspondence and business lists
    • Participate in cross education of job functions within the Local Tax section and Business Tax Correspondence and will also have the opportunity to learn job functions in other areas of the Taxation Division.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Possess a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency (GED)
    • Experience in clerical or office related work.
    • Have a commitment to customer service


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Must be self-motivated
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel
    • Able to pay attention to details and accuracy in work production
    • Proficient in data entry
