    The Position

    Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.

    The Division of Forestry is recruiting to fill a Management Analyst 2 position within the Incident Business Section in Carson City. This position will serve as the Division's subject matter expert and primary resource regarding the allowable practices that relate to incident business management for staff as well as in response to cooperator inquiries. This position represents the Nevada Division of Forestry regarding incident business matters for wildland fires and other emergency response incidents and assists in the negotiation and approval of various purchase transactions and agreements necessary to respond to the emergency incident on behalf of the Division. The incumbent works with various government cooperators regarding the cost of wildland fire or other emergency response incidents; provides training and support to Local Governments in the declaration of Federal Fire Management Assistance Grants; and functions as the supervisor for the Incident Business Unit. The incumbent is also responsible for the billing system that tracks, estimates, and bills incident costs for the agency. Additional duties may be assigned which are relative to these primary duties.

    The incumbent will be required to travel, when necessary, to work on emergency assignments for up to 21 days in duration while staying in a fire camp setting for the purposes of wildland fire incident response when necessary. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment. Additional Position Criteria This position is required to work on emergency assignments for up to 21 days while staying in a fire camp setting.     Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
