    THE POSITION
    We invite you to join the high performing team at the Town of Prescott Valley, serving as our Administrative Specialist II for the Utilities Department.If you have a desire to serve the community in which you live, we encourage you to apply.

    Examples of Duties

    In this position you will:
    • Serve as Administrative support for the Utilities Department including initial customer point of contact.
    • Perform basic bookkeeping/accounting, prepare purchase orders and requisitions. Track and reconcile purchasing cards.
    • Annual department budget administration, preparation and tracking.
    • Create/update spreadsheets and databases for tracking operational costs, electricity usage, project and grant financing/accounting.
    • Assist with the administration of Capital improvement projects including bid packets, postings, addendums and processing payments. Assist with contract document preparation and processing.
    • Assist in maintaining accurate employee records and files. Data entry, mail distribution, ordering supplies, filing and document management.
    • Prepare staff reports for Council approval.
    • Preparation and processing of paperwork and forms for personnel, budget, travel, training, etc.
    • Using Town computer programs and applications for time sheets, personnel, budget, and financial tracking.
    • Assist with public records requests.
    • Assist with front counter duties, answering the phone and questions from citizens.


    Typical Qualification

    Needs to have/ be:
    • High School diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of four years of experience in an administrative or similar function. Two years of college coursework may be substituted for one year of work experience.


    • Ability to pass a pre-employment background including driving record.


    • Ability to type/key 60 words per minute.


    • Working knowledge of basic accounting procedures and policies; payroll and personnel administrative procedures and municipal methods, functions and services.


    • Excellent interpersonal communications and customer service skills.


    Compensation:

    The Town's complete compensation package includes salary, benefits, and a high-performance culture. The Town package includes a no-cost to individual health insurance plan, participation in the state retirement system, optional 457 deferred compensation with town match up to 6%, vacation, holidays, and additional comprehensive benefits.

    The expected hiring range is $24.84—$26.08

    The full salary range is $24.84—$34.78

    Part-time regular employees:
    • General Leave:125 hours the first 5 years then increasing after 5 years.
    • Holidays: Eleven (11) paid holidays; Six(6) hours per day for PT employees.
    • Workers' Compensation: Southwest Risk Insurance; Subsidizes lost wages and provides medical benefits as mandated by the state for on the job work related illness or injuries.
    • Fit for Life Wellness Program: The Town is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all volunteers and paid staff. Participation is strictly voluntary.
