    Supply Services Division has one (1) Storekeeper position available for emergency appointment. Employees who meet the minimum requirements for the class of Storekeeper may apply.

    Requirements / Minimum Qualifications:
    Two years of full-time experience as a Warehouse and Toolroom Worker with the City of Los Angeles; or Two years of full-time paid experience in a class at the level of Warehouse and Toolroom Worker which includes all of the following activities: ordering, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, securing and accounting for each of the following categories: materials, supplies, tools, and equipment.

    This description below is not inclusive of all duties and responsibilities of the position, but represents an overview designed to provide a general understanding of the duties.
    • A Storekeeper assigns, reviews and evaluates the work of a small group of employees
    • Engaged in ordering, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, securing and accounting for materials, supplies, automotive parts, records, tools and equipment
    • Performs related minor repair and assembly work
    • Applies sound supervisory principles and techniques in building and maintaining an effective work force
    • Fulfills equal employment opportunity responsibilities

    Emergency Appointment

    An emergency appointment is not a regular appointment. It is a temporary appointment which does not require that you successfully compete in the Civil Service examination process. The appointment may not exceed one year and must be terminated immediately when a regular appointment can be made from an eligible list. No emergency appointment can exceed one year. (City Charter Section 1013).
