The Office of Workforce and Community Initiatives (OWCI) is seeking candidates to fill a Program Specialist position. This position will be based in Cole County at 3705 Missouri Blvd, Jefferson City, MO.
This person will assist in budget preparation and implementation, coordinating audit request responses and fiscal notes. They will also be assisting in contract preparation, review and tracking for OWCI programs.
This position will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following duties:
- Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing the fiscal impact of proposed legislation on OWCI programs
- Tracking and monitoring contracts with community providers
- Assist in budget requests, running reports and providing analysis on performance measures.
- Responding to requests from the State Auditor’s office or Federal audit requests
- Assisting in coordinating responses to the Missouri General Assembly or the Missouri Office of Administration
- Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)

Preferred Qualifications:The person in this position should be organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to change. Excellent time management, written verbal communication skills, and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, agency staff, and other partners. Ability to work independently in assessing and managing priorities. Experience with computers and desktop applications, including Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of SAM II and Excel formulas preferred.
