    Position Summary

    Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Dean of Students/Director for Student Organizations & Leadership and lead work direction of the Assistant Director, the Administrative Support Coordinator is primarily responsible for providing administrative and budgetary support within the Sport Clubs Program for students, community members and/or staff. Assignments and projects often involve interaction and coordinating with other work groups to gather routine information and/or solve problems.

    The incumbent is responsible for a full range of work activities including the maintaining files and records, scheduling and arranging appointments, providing budget support, processing documents and records, gathering data, preparing standard reports, and interacting with and solving problems for Sport Clubs Program staff, students, and coaches.

    The incumbent works independently with general instructions to support the administrative and budgetary functions of the Sport Clubs Program. Assignments involve the regular use of judgment and discretion and require the management of multiple work priorities. The incumbent must interpret and apply policies and procedures and at times must address problems with practical, thorough and creative solutions. Ingenuity may be necessary to adapt guidelines and procedures to meet new needs.

    FLSA: Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime)

    Anticipated Hiring Range: Anticipated hiring at the minimum of the classification: $4,058 per month

    CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,058 per month - $6,653 per month

    Minimum Qualifications

    Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally,

    incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be

    able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business

    mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems

    and software packages is also a prerequisite.

    These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational

    program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

    Required Qualifications

    Experience providing clerical and administrative support functions. Ability to apply independently a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist. Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices. Ability to use general office equipment and a full range of office support technology and systems. Excellent written and oral communication skills; effective listening skills; strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to perform standard business math, and make simple projections requiring some inference, including tracking and comparing data. Work often involves contacts with a variety of campus and community individuals requiring active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills. Demonstrated competence in effectively presenting information in writing.     Preferred Qualifications

    Knowledge of University system software (CFS, CMS-HR, CMS-SA, Finance Data Warehouse, PeopleAdmin). Knowledge of student engagement platform (CampusGroups) and Sport Clubs management software (Do Sports Easy). Experience maintaining, monitoring, and reconciling budgets. Knowledge of governmental financial record-keeping methods. Ability to learn, interpret independently, and apply a variety of complex policies and procedures. Able to identify deviations from applicable policies. Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough and, at times, creative solutions.
    Demonstrated competence in understanding, interpreting, and communicating procedures, policies, information, ideas, and instructions.
