    Major Duties

    Under general supervision of the Vice President for Information Technology/Chief Information Officer (VP), the Executive Assistant serves as a critical confidential administrative support professional, ensuring efficient management of the VP's office. The incumbent facilitates the seamless execution of tasks and initiatives that impact university operations.
    • Responsible for managing the VP's calendar, schedules, correspondence, and records while maintaining accessibility, confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion.
    • Balances multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects within a complex and dynamic environment, liaising between the VP's office and internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
    • Responsible for handling communications on behalf of the VP, organizing and maintaining files, and providing support for initiatives that align with divisional and university goals, including the divisional roadmap and its alignment with CSUN's institutional plan.
    • The role requires strict confidentiality and integrity, as it involves access to sensitive information such as human resources data, salary details, contact information, personnel files, performance evaluations, employee relations, and information security matters. The assistant plays a vital role in supporting the VP's critical responsibilities and advancing divisional objectives through sound judgment and a commitment to professionalism.

    Qualifications
    • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
    • Equivalent to two years of full-time, progressively responsible professional/technical experience in IT or related area.


    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    • General knowledge of: principles of organization, administration and management; knowledge of practices and regulations as they pertain to Information Technologies. English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; and office methods, practices, and procedures. General knowledge of state and federal employment laws, rules, regulations, and collective bargaining procedures.
    • Demonstrated ability and specialized skills to: analyze and find solutions to problems, communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff and others; work independently and plan day-to-day activities; quickly learn, interpret, and apply multiple complex rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements; independently apply judgment and discretion; identify, research, analyze, reason logically and resolve problems.
    • Work well under pressure and in constantly changing circumstances; and interact with personnel in a highly professional manner. Ability to work with a population from diverse backgrounds, including faculty members, students, staff members, alumni, members of the general public, senior University officials, and persons in senior positions outside the University.     Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
    • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
    • Classification: Confidential Admin Support / 1176 / grade 1
    • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $4261 - $5400 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $4261 - $8166 per month.
    • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday.
    • This is a Regular position with a two-year probationary period.
    • The position is currently hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
