    TYPICAL DUTIES

    • Provide psychiatric services and consideration for telemedicine to SJGH and its federally qualified clinic.
    • Supervise and teach family medicine and internal medicine residents on scheduled rotations. Collaborate with providers, including nurse practitioners.
    • Maintain all required medical licenses (California Medical Board, DEA) and submit documentation for credentialing every three years.
    • Adhere to federal and state regulations for billing reimbursement (Medi-Cal, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.).
    • Maintain and update medical records in SJGH’s electronic system, including using telehealth tools.
    • Schedule appointments, ensure timely documentation, and participate in peer reviews.
    • Evaluate and treat individuals with mental health and co-occurring disorders; prescribe medications.
    • Follow Medi-Cal Medication Formulary, Black Box warning procedures, and treatment authorization protocols.
    • Maintain at least 60% productivity for patient care services and ensure accurate billing documentation.
    • Follow SJGH Clinic Model for service delivery, including managing appointments and caseloads.
    • Special Assignments may include after-hours coverage or additional services eligible for supplemental pay.
