Job Summary Starting Salary:
- System/ Networks Administrator I $28.28 - $36.06
- System/ Networks Administrator II $28.90 - $38.29
- System/ Networks Administrator III $31.51 - $41.74
Nature of Work:Performs a variety of technical and administrative tasks relative to multi-user computer systems, servers, and networks in the Industrial Automation Group for the City's Water Reclamation Division. Responsibilities include specification, installation, maintenance, configuration, security, tuning, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, capacity planning, client support, and documentation of City computer systems, networks, and associated hardware/software resources. Must adhere to City and department policies and procedures. Work is performed under general supervision of departmental managers and is subject to periodic review and evaluation.
WORK SCHEDULE varies according to division needs and includes some evenings and weekends. Must pass police background investigation.
Minimum Requirements: SYSTEMS/NETWORKS ADMINISTRATOR I : Bachelor degree in computer science, or related field, and one year experience related to microcomputers, systems/networks administration, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial HMI development, programming, support; or an equivalent combination of specifically related education, training, and experience.
Must pass police background investigation.
SYSTEMS/NETWORKS ADMINISTRATOR II: Same as Systems/Networks Administrator I, above, SYSTEMS/NETWORKS ADMINISTRATOR II: Same as Systems/Networks Administrator I, above, except requires two years experience as specified. Must pass police background investigation.
SYSTEMS/NETWORKS ADMINISTRATOR III: Same as Systems/Networks Administrator I, above, except
requires five years’ experience as specified. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: VMWare, networking, switches, routing, wireless networks and servers administration/maintenance. Must pass police background investigation.
Preferred qualifications: Experience with HMI (Humane Machine Interface) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming.
Desired qualifications: Experience withRF (Radio Frequency data transmission), Remote Telemetry Unit (RTU) systems, Motorola Systems Tools Suite, StaRTU software, Siemens S7 PLCs, Siemens TIA Portal, Ignition from Inductive Automation, Human Machine Interface (HMI) graphics design, Java, Python, SQL Server programming, and web programming, PRTG monitoring software , SIEMENS SIMATIC S7 PLCs, SIMATIC STEP7, SIEMENS TIA Portal, SIEMENS WinCC HMI, Inductive Automation-Ignition, graphics design, Java, Python, SQL Server 2008 and 2012, web and mobile application development.
