Why you’ll love this position:The Public Health Program Associate is an entry-level professional position serves within the Section for Patient and Application Services (PAAS), Individual Licensing Unit (ILU) team, processing applications for individual ID card types within Article XIV and 19 CSR 100-1. This team serves as the frontline for the division, including intake of public inquiries offering education and rule clarification. This role requires adaptability, discernment, and significant independence while also collaborating across the unit and section.
- Processing individual ID card application types through the online registry portal using standard processes in alignment with rule and law;
- Conduct intake of public inquiries received through regular shifts in the call center and division general intake email.
- Maintain an understanding and working knowledge of Article XIV, 19 CSR 100-1 and the associated rules and policies that govern the program.
- Demonstrate consistency in following standard operating procedures and policies for processing applications.
- Develop understanding of the online registry portal to effectively utilize the system for application processing and provide technical support to applicants.
- Regularly participate in section initiatives, responsible for following directions for assigned duties and meeting expectations to support successful outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing unit collaboration for process improvements for consistency and accuracy, and presents ideas for solutions to unit coordinators.
- Actively identifies opportunities for unit process improvements through handling daily workload and intake of public inquiries to refine ILU program standard policies and procedures;
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- 0-1 years of relevant call center experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- Experience in a state government and/or regulatory environment preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with the public and other constituents while maintaining a high-level of service.
- Exceptional skills within Microsoft Office/M365 Suite, call center software, cloud-based application programs, and other comparable programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Content editing and formatting experience.
- A high level of initiative and problem solving skills in areas of responsibility.
- Ability to adapt to constant program development, change and improvement while maintaining accuracy and achieving results.
- Ability to operate independently in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated dependability and accountability through consistent attendance and performance.
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills and find solutions to new situations on a regular basis.
- Ability to maintain expected levels of productivity and conduct within a hybrid/remote-work agreement. In-office training is required until successful completion of training and demonstration of proficiency in required areas of responsibilities.
