DescriptionThis highly responsible position will manage all of the essential building services for the County’s Fixed Facilities (Public Services Building, Emergency Services Building, Law Enforcement Center, Detention Center, Juvenile Detention Center, Social Services HUB and all Charleston County Libraries). The employee in this position must be able to work comfortably with trade technicians, upper level management and Elected Officials.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $85,508.80 - 111,987.20 (Estimated Annual Salary) APPLICATION DEADLINE OF: OPEN UNTIL FILLED - APPLICATION REVIEW BEGINS IMMEDIATELYDuties and Responsibilities DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Developing and ensuring good employee and public relations relative to the essential building services, assuring tenant satisfaction, coordinating facility maintenance, contract services and building security support.
Additional duties include but are not limited to scheduling building activities, ensuring building security after hours, weekends and holidays. The Facilities Manager I will investigate occupant/visitor complaints, monitor and enforce occupant complicance with building rules, codes and procedures.
The Facilities Manager I will monitor building mechanical/energy management systems, access and surveillance system and additional building manager duties as necessary. The position also functions as the County’s point of contact for the Fire Marshall and OSHA/DHEC Inspectors and regulatory agencies.
Minimum Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering or Business is preferred supplemented with five (5) to seven (7) years combination of Government/Commercial office Facilities Management and general maintenance experience in a government or similar environment.
Strong Leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building. Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) credential is a plus. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required and the abilitiy to effectively problem solve and troubleshoot a variety of situations. Exemplary customer service/support skills are required and experience using word processing, email, and spreadsheet functions; knowledge/experience working with Integrated Workplace Management and energy management systems.
Successful candidate must be able to pass a SLED background check and possess a valid SC driver’s license.
