    Job Location: Division of Professional Registration, State Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners, 3605 Missouri Boulevard, Jefferson City, Missouri 65109.

    The position will be accountable for performing investigative and compliance work of a variety of criminal, civil or other unlawful activities. Employee will be responsible for gathering additional data and preparing reports. Candidates must have good, effective communication skills, be self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, make routine decisions, organize workflow and establish priorities and deadlines.

    • Prepare, process and maintain complaint files and enter them into the board’s database

    • Generate caseload and aging reports

    • Conduct licensee compliance audits

    • Track criminal and malpractice cases

    • Monitor disciplined licensees/registrants

    • Draft and issue Board disciplinary orders

    • Locate, interview and prepare statements from witnesses and persons suspected of violation statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to the practice of the board and obtain evidence of suspected violation

    • Exam and analyze a variety of records in order to secure information concerning suspected violations of the law

    • Gather, assemble, preserve and report the facts, statements, affidavits and other evidence used in legal actions

    • Independently draft and prepare investigative reports for board review

    • Testify in court and civil proceedings when needed.

    • Assist with Board Meeting preparation

    • Some statewide day travel is required.

    • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with specialization in criminal justice, law enforcement, criminology, business administration, social sciences or closely related areas; or
    • Four or more years of experience in a law enforcement, para-professional position or a position classified at the level of a Customer Service Representative or higher with experience in financial, civil, administrative or investigative activities.
    • (Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university in the areas of business or public administration may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience)
    • Knowledge of computer applications such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
