Under general direction, is responsible for management of an assigned division of the Technology Services Department; oversee, plans, designs, implements and maintains a variety of systems and programs; coordinates assigned activities with our department, divisions and outside agencies; develops division policies, procedures, goals, and budgets; interprets and applies existing policies; represents the department on issues concerning the various products and services managed; and performs related work as required.
Representative DutiesThe following typical tasks and responsibilities are representative of this class. They are descriptive, not limiting; Develops and administers the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for the division; Selects and appoints section staff and provides for their morale, productivity, and professional development; Plans, organizes, evaluates, coordinates, and directs the work of technology professionals and technical staff; Monitors technology trends and quickly adapts to changing environments; Analyzes business problems and makes recommendations based upon findings; Provides expert professional technology consultant services to the senior management team, employees, and supervisory staff.

Minimum QualificationsApplications will be accepted

- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems, business information systems, business administration, or a closely-related field, or related field; AND
- Four (4) years of increasingly responsible administrative and technical experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the capabilities to perform the described job duties.
- Possession of a valid California Class “C” driver’s license.
Examination (Weighted: 100%)An appraisal will be made of the applicant's experience, education, training, certification, knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal qualifications for the position. A minimum passing score of 70% is required.

VACATION: Accrual rate is determined by bargaining unit.
1-4 years of service: 10 days per year.
5-13 years of service: 15 days per year.
14+ years of service: 20 days per year.
VACATION - FIRE SAFETY SHIFT PERSONNEL ONLY:
1-4 years of service: 4.68 (24-hr. duty shifts)
5-15 years of service: 7.02 (24-hr. duty shifts)
16+ years of service: 9.36 (24-hr. duty shifts)
HOLIDAYS: 13 paid holidays per year.
SICK LEAVE: Earned at the rate of one working day per month of service to a maximum of 120 days; portions therafter may be convertible.
ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE: 10 days per year for General Supervisory and Management employees.
