  • Job Description

    DESCRIPTION

    The Long Beach Airport has one (1) immediate opening for a full-time, at-will, unclassified Clerk Typist III position. This position will provide s upport to the Superintendent of Airport Security.

    EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

    • Receiving applications, verifying documents, processing fingerprints, adjudicating cases, issuing permits, passes, badges, and conducting audits;
    • Performing regulatory and administrative duties, which include making photocopies, emailing documents, record checks, maintaining daily logs, filing, scheduling training, and conducting training;
    • Conducting badging office established procedures that include but are not limited to the distribution of correspondence, reports, information, paperwork, invoices, forms, or related information;
    • Maintaining records and databases, and preparing standard reports;
    • Communicating with Federal, State and local department representatives; and
    • Performs other related duties as required.


    REQUIREMENTS TO FILE

    • The ability to type neatly and accurately at a net speed of 40 words per minute.
    • The ability to file in alphabetical and numerical order and perform clerical detail, which includes making simple mathematical computations and correcting error in grammar, spelling and punctuation;
    • The ability to work cooperatively with other employees and the public.

    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
    • Two years (full-time equivalent) of professional experience in administrative/clerical or security/law enforcement.
    • A valid Class C Driver License.
    • Proficiency in Office 365.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
