    Description

    The Modesto Irrigation District is currently recruiting to fill one part-time temporary hourly-intermittent Student Intern, up to 40 hours per week for the summer, in the Electric Engineering Department, Transmission and Distribution Division. Student interns can expect to work in a variety of special projects during the term of his/her internship.

    Examples of Duties

    Projects may include updating modeling software such as ASPEN short-circuit software, General Electric PSLF (Positive Sequence Load Flow) transmission planning software, and MILSOFT distribution planning software. Students may also assist Substation Engineers and the Standards Engineer with equipment specification and construction standards development. Other tasks as assigned.

    Typical qualifications may include:
    • Enrolled in a four year college or university. Preference will be given to upper class applicants or recent college graduates planning to attend graduate school.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
    • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
    • Ability to work cooperatively with others
