Why you’ll love this position:Weights, Measures and Consumer Protection is one of five divisions within the Missouri Department of Agriculture that is charged with ensuring equity in the marketplace. The division accomplishes this goal through the inspection and regulation of commercial weighing and measuring devices, sampling, and testing of fuel products, accurate calibration of volumetric and gravimetric standards and the restoration and monumentation of land survey corners.
We are currently seeking a highly qualified Division Secretary to provide professional administrative support to both internal and external stakeholders. Position will report directly to Division Director and will be required to work in the office five days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Coordinate and direct division fiscal processes including but not limited to coding and entering bills, processing employee expense reports, maintaining vehicle fleet and driver information and maintaining program budget spreadsheets for Division Director.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of invoices, payments, and other financial documents.
- Prepare revenue and expenditure reports as needed by Division Director.
- Disseminate letters, memos, emails, and other correspondence, as instructed.
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to gather quotes, order supplies and maintain division office supplies.
- Handle incoming calls and emails to the division and communicate with the division employees and the public in a professional and responsive manner.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Four (4) or more years of progressive experience in clerical or administrative support
- Must possess a valid Missouri Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with State of Missouri computer systems including but not limited to: SAMII, MissouriBuys, WEX, Fleetwave and MOVERS
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, accuracy and be highly organized
- Possess excellent proofreading and writing skills
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Possess a customer service-oriented attitude with both colleagues and the general public
