    Job Announcement

    The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Recreation Aide - Birthday Parties - Tumbleweed Recreation Center (part-time, temporary, non-benefited). This position serves at the discretion of the department director. The position may require weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays for birthday parties, with hours ranging from 9:15 AM to 6:15 PM. Occasionally, and depending on availability, the role may also involve working on other programs, such as the Polar Express, which takes place midweek in the afternoons.

    Who we are looking for
    Our new team members will be passionate about customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We're looking for someone with strong organizational and time management skills, a creative and adaptable mindset, and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will be a confident people person who enjoys working with children and can effectively communicate with individuals of all ages.Typical responsibilities include preparing supplies and organizing activities, setting up and cleaning party rooms (including arranging and breaking down tables and chairs), and engaging with both parents and children. The Recreation Aide will lead activities such as crafts, science experiments, sports/games, party games, and bounce house setup and takedown. They may also assist with other programs like drop-in sessions, rentals, and special events. Additional duties involve enforcing policies, inventory management, placing supply reorders, offering customer service, handling administrative tasks, and more.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Some High School; no experience required; and
    • A First Aid/CPR Certification is required within 90 days of employment; and
    • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
    Desired Qualifications
    • Previous experience working with children or in children's entertainment

    The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
