    Duties Description

    Primary duties will include but not be limited to:
    • Janitorial services including: Clean bathrooms, kitchen, and pantry.
    • Sweep and mop floors throughout the building.
    • Restock rags, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, garbage bags, and other items as necessary.
    • Set up and break down tables and chairs for educational programs and events.
    • Pick up trash around the building (both in garbage cans and on the ground).
    • Maintain pollinator garden and playground area by weeding, planting, clearing dead plants.
    • Assist with events and be available to work various hours, including weekends
    • Complete required maintenance reports thoroughly and on time as needed.
    • Fill out, send, file, and follow up on work requests, stock room acquisitions, and purchasing supplies as needed.
    • Call in storm reports to Jones Beach Operations.
    • Identify building maintenance needs and supplies and alert supervisor.
    • Keep maintenance tools clean and organized.
    • Pick up or drop off items at Storehouse, Admin building, or Headquarters as needed.
    • Perform other park-related duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
    • Must possess and maintain and a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time and load, carry, or unload materials of varying weights and sizes.
    • Must have basic computer skills.
    • Must be reliable, flexible, and willing to work in a team setting.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with other staff and park patrons in a responsible and courteous manner under stressful conditions.
    • Ability to work in a high-pressured, fast-paced setting.

    BENEFITS:
    This position has the option to join the NYS Employee’s Retirement System and may be eligible for health insurance, dental and vision coverage as well as the opportunity for paid time off in the form of vacation, sick, personal and holiday leave after time and service requirements has been met.
