GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor Performs highly complex (senior-level) construction, restoration, renovation, and maintenance. Under the direction of the Choke Canyon State Park management team, this position is responsible for performing all phases of maintenance and repairs to facilities, buildings to include carpentry, electrical and plumbing, grounds, and equipment. Performs UPO duties, including reports, maintenance and inspections. Performs routine cleaning of facilities, grounds, and equipment. Operates all types of equipment including hand tools, electrical tools, power tools, power mowers, trucks, tractors, boats, and other gasoline or diesel-powered equipment. Provides visitor services including interpretation of the park's natural and cultural resources and the enforcement of park rules and regulations. Prepare reports, purchases, camper registration, and collection of fees. Performs fleet and equipment repairs and maintenance and is responsible for maintaining associated logs. Coordinates the work of hourly employees and volunteers. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations, and procedures.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
Graduation from High School or GED.
Experience :
Four years facility, equipment, or grounds maintenance experience.
Licensure :
Must possess a valid State driver's license.
Must possess or be able to obtain within one year of employment, a class "D" Water and Wastewater license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
NOTE : Retention of position contingent upon maintaining required licenses.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree in water/wastewater technology or closely related field.
Experience :
Experience Working with the public.
Experience working with public water systems.
Licensure :
Current Class "D" Water and Wastewater license or higher issued by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
Current Class "C" Water or higher license issued by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

Required to perform work outdoors, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
Required to perform manual labor including, lifting supplies and materials up to 50 lbs.
Required to operate a State vehicle.
Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays.
Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules and safety procedures.
