The City of Chandler Development Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Building Plan Review Administrator. The position is scheduled to Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM. Once settled in with the team, there will be an opportunity to work a 9/80 schedule.

Who we are
The City of Chandler Development Services team, consisting of 83 positions, provides sound land use planning strategies, responsible design development standards, and high quality, safety compliant infrastructure in all areas of Development Services, including planning, GIS, building safety, development engineering, telecommunications and utility franchise, City fiber, transportation engineering, and customer service and permits. The Building Inspections team is a progressive and innovative team that partners with the development community, contractors, other departments, and citizens to deliver quality services in support of the City of Chandler's Mission and Values.

Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone with a strong foundation and experience in completing high-profile complex building plan evaluations, as well as managing the work involved in the technical engineering review of building construction development plans as part of the City's development review process.

Minimum qualifications
• A Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or a related field; and
• 5 years of experience in building plan review with a code enforcement public or municipal agency, including 2 years of supervisory or lead plans examiner experience; and
• ICC Building Plans Examiner and 1 additional ICC upon hire; and
• A valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Desired qualifications
• Registered Architect or Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona;
• Consulting experience with architectural and/or structural design and inspection in the private sector.

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
