Full-time position available with the Health Department, Aim4Peace Division located at 2400 Troost Ave
Salary Range: $5,173-$7,759/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5: 00 p.m. *Hours may vary due to program needs

Responsibilities
- Helps to reduce violence by addressing its root causes in Kansas City's most effected neighborhoods.
- Oversees all operations of the Aim4Peace violence prevention program, including the program budget, personal management, contract management, community engagement, and relationship building.
- Oversees all Aim4Peace programming as well, including the street response team, the youth violence prevention team, and the hospital response team.
- Exercises careful independent judgement and must be capable of managing a moderate-sized staff.
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with partners in and outside of city government.
- Identifies and remedies operational defects to improve overall policy effectiveness.
- Supervises assigned staff and coordinates all assigned projects, promotions, and grants required deliverables including operations analysis, budget, personnel matters, and operating rules and regulations.
- Functions as a constructive resource for employees under their supervision.
- Organizes, allocates, and maintains documentation for the Aim4Peace program.
- Prepares, analyzes, and interprets complex reports.
- Acts as divisional representative and interdepartmental liaison with other programs, divisions, departments, and groups.
- Organizes and disseminates program information to the community as requested.
- Represents the Aim4Peace program in meetings and conferences involving city officials and other public or private groups.
- Acts as a liaison between members of the community and the Health Department.
- Works with community, faith-based, residential, and non-profit organizations, schools, hospitals, and businesses to create, develop, and maintain working relationships with the Health Department.
- Coordinates with hospitals and first responders to organize and strategically deploy personnel in accordance with the violence interruption model.
- Schedules, organizes, attends, facilitates, and represents the Kansas City Health Department at health fairs within the greater Kansas City area.
- Organizes and facilitates violence reduction education and trainings for City personnel, schools, community organizations, and members of the general public.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, municipal officials, community organizations, and the general public.
- Assists the Behavioral Health and Injury Prevention Division Manager in the administration of divisional operations as requested.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 6 (OR an accredited Master's degree and 4) years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields; OR a High School Diploma and ten (10) years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
