Salary Range: $4,619-$6,928/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. *May work some weekends and nights when needed

Responsibilities
The Office of Policy and Planning is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven professional to serve as the Policy Outreach Coordinator. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining and reporting on the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) and driving collaborative health initiatives across Kansas City.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and facilitates the implementation of the CHIP, including coalition-building with businesses, nonprofits, healthcare agencies, and city departments.
- Communicates with the Kansas City Health Commission, co-sponsors of the CHIP, to ensure effective plan implementation, reporting, and meeting facilitation.
- Leads policy outreach efforts.
- Facilitates and reports on all CHIP activities and manages CHIP related contracts.
- Collaborates with OPP staff on cross-functional projects to advance strategic health goals.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 4 (OR an accredited Master's degree and 2) years of responsible health related experience in the fields of public health with the federal, state or local government or in the private health sector, including 1 year at the level of Public Health Specialist II; OR a doctorate in Veterinary Science, Health Education or Public Health or Doctor of Medicine (MD); OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience, including 2 years of experience at the level of Public Health Specialist II. Must possess a valid State -issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies. Must pass a preemployment drug screen and post offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
Preference will be given to those with: an extensive experience managing and reporting on large-scale plans or programmatic work, strong knowledge of public health programming, methodologies, and best practices, drives long-term initiatives independently, possesses excellent professional writing and communication skills, thrives in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating flexibility and collaboration, or previous experience facilitating large meetings, both in-person and virtually. For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
