    Job Summary

    Under the general supervision of the Director of Faculty Affairs, the FA Employment Analyst performs a variety of temporary faculty hiring transactions for summer term employment, lecturers, teaching associates (TA’s), graduate assistants (GA’s), Instructional Student Assistants (ISA’s) librarians and coaches; range elevations, additional employment, separations, and other faculty affairs processes as assigned. The FA Employment Analyst is also the customer service liaison for colleges and departments for appointments and compensation guidance.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Process new/rehired temporary faculty salary transactions for new/rehired lecturers, student employees (ISA’s/GA’s/TA’s) Librarians, Substitutes, Coaches and Counselor appointments/contracts, separations, and leaves.
    • Additional employment transactions including salary increases, conversions from Academic year to calendar year salaries, and summer session contracts.
    • Customer Service Contact for colleges and Departments - Act as faculty affairs representative to faculty. Provide timely response to call and email questions from colleges, departments, and individual faculty members regarding summer session, temporary lecturer entitlements and appointments, and other issues within the scope of the position.
    • Summer appointment/contract processing and data reporting - Under the direction of the Sr. Compensation, enter, analyze data in summer session HR system. Generate and distribute contracts.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    Ability to interpret and apply CSU policies and procedures relative to the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Ability to investigate, analyze, and anticipate problems and address them proactively. Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.

    Skill in the research and application of policies, including skill in the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of related data. Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to collaborative processes. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to work on competing priorities. Knowledge of fundaments of Human Resource practices. Knowledge of PeopleSoft HR Processes, reports, and Excel spreadsheets.

    Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

    Education and Experience

    • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of related experience required.

    • Master’s degree preferred.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experience with academic personnel processes.

    • Experience with lnterfolio software.

    • Experience with PeopleSoft HR.

    Physical Summary
    • Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

    Compensation

    Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

    Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $3,879 - $4,782 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

    CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,879 - $7,488 per month.

    Time Base

    1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.

    Duration of Appointment

    This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
