The Position

Facility Supervisors/Managers plan, organize and direct buildings and grounds maintenance, repair, custodial work, security functions, and fleet maintenance and supervise skilled and semi-skilled staff.

Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.

This is a Facility Supervisor 1 position with the Dept. of Motor Vehicles, Administrative Services Division located in Carson City. The incumbent manages 18 office locations and maintenance statewide by planning, organizing and directing all facility related major and minor repairs, maintenance, alterations, construction, and security. Responsibilities include being on call for all facility related issues; light building repairs and grounds maintenance; carry out preventive maintenance tasks on various building systems; read and interpret repair orders service manuals and building codes; proper use of equipment and materials, and rules/regulations pertaining to job safety, purchasing and supervisory responsibilities; prepare work orders, reports of work accomplished and documentation related to supervisory responsibilities. Under the authority of NRS 239B.010.1(b), the DMV utilizes NRS 205.4605 - 205.810, NRS 293.504, NRS 293.5045, 6 CFR 37.45, 49 CFR 1572.103, and 49 CFR 384.228 as criteria to obtain a FBI fingerprint clearance check on current and prospective employees. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of experience in building construction or building maintenance; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Notes Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules and may be subject to call-back for response to emergencies. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
