The JobPerformance, Education & Resource Centers (PERC) is recruiting for a
Social Worker Training and Development Specialist* who is responsible for planning, coordinating, assessing, and delivering training programs to professional social workers in the
Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS). Duties may include but are not limited to: recommending, developing, and conducting training needs assessments; developing curricula, lesson plans, and training materials; developing and delivering training programs; and preparing and coordinating training schedules.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, credit check, medical exam, including drug testing, prior to appointment.
Physical Requirements: Incumbents deliver classroom training on a regular basis which includes frequent and continuous walking and standing.
Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required. Employees will be required to make provisions for transportation. Mileage reimbursement may be available.

Minimum RequirementsOption 1: Education: Master's Degree from an accredited institution* in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Gerontology, or other behavioral science.
-AND-Experience: Two (2) years of full-time experience providing professional social work case management services equivalent to a journey-level Social Worker II or higher in San Bernardino County (providing complex social work to assist seniors, dependent adults, and/or persons with a disability in enhancing their capacity for social functioning). Qualifying experience
must have been obtained in a Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS) or Area Agency on Aging (AAA). **
Note: Experience as a Social Worker II Trainee is not considered qualifying.
Option 2: Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution* in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, Gerontology or other behavioral science.
-AND-Experience: Three (3) years of full-time experience providing professional social work case management services equivalent to a journey-level Social Worker II or higher in San Bernardino County (providing complex social work to assist seniors, dependent adults, and/or persons with a disability in enhancing their capacity for social functioning). Qualifying experience must have been obtained in a Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS) or Area Agency on Aging (AAA).
** Note: Experience as a Social Worker II Trainee is not considered qualifying.
Important Notes: - *Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside of the U.S. must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service indicating equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.
- **Experience as a Social Worker II Trainee is not considered qualifying. Trainee and journey-level experience must be listed separately on the application.
Desired QualificationsExperience as a Social Service Practitioner II or higher and training experience with Adult Protectives Services (APS) and/or In-Home Support Services (IHSS) programs within San Bernardino County Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS)/Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) is highly desirable.
