    Full-time position available with the Aviation Department, Custodial Division, located at 1 Kansas City Blvd.
    Salary Range: $18.37-$28.01/hour
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Shifts based on operational needs, then assigned by seniority

    Responsibilities

    • Inspect buildings floor by floor or area to determine that regular custodial and other cleaning duties have been performed (baggage claim areas, kiosk panel, general seating area)
    • Perform sweeping, mopping, waxing, and polishing floors.
    • Empty trash containers for disposal at trash compactor.
    • Check and remove debris from sidewalks, smoke bins, bus shelters, and vestibules.
    • Operate floor scrubbing machines, battery-operated sweepers, motor driven floor polisher, power-operated tile and grout cleaner, and general hand work associated with the cleaning of buildings.
    • Oversees and participates in carpet cleaning, washing walls, stainless steel baseboards, window/glass washing, dusting furniture and other articles.
    • Perform snow removal activities.
    • Unstop plugged lavatories, sanitize restroom and fixtures.
    • Maintain and replenish stock levels as required and complete daily restroom inspection log.
    • Must be available for duty on scheduled shift.
    • Must be able to lift 50lbs minimum, and perform physical laboring tasks that include but not limited to: frequent climbing, standing, stooping, reaching, twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, hand grasping, and driving.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.



    Qualifications

    REQUIRES 6 months of experience in the custodial care and limited general maintenance of buildings. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

    Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

    The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
    For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

    If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
