    Southeast Missouri Residential Services (SEMORS) is a Missouri Department of Mental Health facility serving two locations at 2351 Kanell Blvd. in Poplar Bluff, MO. and 112 Plaza Dr. in Sikeston, MO. Travel between both sites will be required. The r egular work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with Saturday and Sunday off. Occasional coverage on other shifts may be necessary at times to meet the needs of the facility.

    This is an advanced specialized and/or supervisory registered nurse position. Supervisors are accountable for directing nursing services, which includes oversight/review of work and documentation of subordinate and/or specialist personnel. Supervises, plans, and schedules the delivery of nursing services to several units. Assumes responsibility for carrying out several nursing programs in a public health setting.

    For specialist positions at this level: Directly involved in the development and implementation of one or more highly specialized nursing programs, such as infection control, quality control, employee health, billing compliance, health facility surveying, or other specialty.

    • Professional supervisory position accountable for professional program planning and management. Participates in individual habilitation treatment plan meetings and provides necessary nursing assessments for consumer with developmental disabilities along with formulate short and long-term objectives.
    • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the SEMORS-ISL nursing department and provides some direct supervision.
    • Prepare and conduct nursing assessments and develop nursing diagnoses.
    • Ability to administer detailed therapeutic prescriptions and nursing interventions.


    • Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri or in accordance with Missouri's Nurse Licensure Compact.
    • Knowledge of current nursing theory, practices, and techniques. Skill in applying practical nursing principles in the care of persons with physical or mental illness, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and/or the geriatric population.
    • At least 2-4 years of experience working as a registered nurse.
    • Valid driver's license.
