The OpportunityThe
Project Coordinator will work closely with various community stakeholders that are apart of Parking and Transportation Management Districts ( PTMD ), which are Council adopted parking districts that set aside parking funds to complete mobility enhancements within the districts. The Project Coordinator will organize each district, creating a process to meet regularly, plan and deliver mobility projects, community surveys and engagement, and creating success metrics to measure progress.

Driving Requirement This position requires a Valid Texas Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the
City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation ( DRE ) requisite . To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months.
90 Day Provision for Additional VacancyIf the same or an additional vacancy occurs within the Public Works Department in the same job title within 90 days after the start date of the top candidate, the additional position may be offered to another top candidate from the same candidate pool. This may include filling other vacancies with the same job title in other division/work locations within the City of Austin Public Works Department. Decisions on assigned selection may be made at the time of hire based on the business needs of the department.

Preferred Qualifications Experience working in the mobility demand field specifically in fast paced environments managing multiple projects simultaneously while developing scopes of work, standard operating procedures, and training programs on licensing and permitting or equivalent. Experience interpreting and developing municipal policy to implement and oversee public facing programs. Experience with transportation planning processes and engineering practices, specifically interpreting right-of-way agreements, reviewing parking demand analysis, and reviewing and implementing capital improvement projects. Experience researching, planning, and implementing transportation technology systems, including databases, data governance, analytics, mobile applications. Experience organizing community and stakeholder engagement specifically within a federal, state, or municipal government setting that includes focus groups, district committees, stakeholder specific groups, and other public organizations. Experience working with multiple teams across multiple organization departments, diverse groups of stakeholders from multiple city departments and outside agencies to organize, plan, and implement programs and projects. Advanced experience working with digital software programs and platforms to help oversee programs key performance metrics to measure program or project success. Experience providing program reports that includes developing and giving presentations to executive management, boards and commissions, elected officials, and community groups. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.Communicates project and/or program information to internal and external customers. Assists in the development and monitoring of project and/or program budgets by completing assignments that may include processing a pay application or monitoring and updating the assigned project budget. Assists in the development of short- and long-range plans on projects or works on routine projects whereby techniques used are well known and present no unusual engineering problems. Assists in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures by providing input as a team member of an established process improvement team. Ensures compliance with City and other regulatory agency requirements and policies by verifying that regulatory/permitting processes have been identified and permits or approvals acquired for assigned project. Coordinates development/reviews construction or engineering related contracts, contract documents, and Developer Agreements by reviewing preparing and processing project change orders to projects if change orders are appropriate and in compliance or applying technical quality control review. Coordinates and evaluates plans, criteria, schedules, etc. for a variety of projects, Programs, and plans or a division and/or section activities. Assists in the resolution of conflicts and difficult situations by providing supporting documentation, policies and procedures. Develops, maintains, and improves City of Austin design and construction standards. Provides technical advice and assistance.
